First competing overseas in 2003 for the Factory Sherco Academy in the European Youth Championships,  he  continues  to  compete  nationally  and  internationally and claim fantastic results. While taking 6 months off competing, Boyd had continued his training by focusing on working with up and coming members of the sport. In the short term, Boyd aims to continue training and competing overseas for Australia, and to win the Australian Championships in Open Solo. Over the long term, he will continue his coaching, helping to mentor a new generation of young riders while promoting his sport and passion.
